It's that time of year again (sort of). So lets chat about your manga reading for the new year. Old favourites reread, continuing series, something hip, hot and new, or are you delving into the classics?
Recently started reading
Nana by Ai Yawaza. Being a fan of the cute and compact
Paradise Kiss I was worried that a longer form work might be prone to the usual manga foibles of extreme padding but so far things have been going well. The early 20-something storyline is recognisable (minus the whole rock band bit, boo hoo) and the characters are both charming and real.
Still following
Pluto and
20th Century Boys with much excitement. If you haven't read these yet, do. Top action and brilliant twisty plots that put Death Note to shame.
On the 'to-read list' is the gorgeous looking Go Go Monster hardcover by Taiyo Matsumoto,
Little Fluffy Gigolo PELU and
Princess Mermaid by Junko Mizuno, and
Japan: As Viewed by 17 Creators a Japanese/French collaboration.
That's mine, what're yours?
